This AVG Identity Protection software with unlimited upgrades to the latest versions is an economical way to protect your identity when banking or purchasing stuff online. The program protects from online threats and bad things doing damage to your machine. The program works with any antivirus software. The program protects your identity while your online, and against new and unknown threats. According to AVG the software a behavioral analysis to ensure your programs are operating normally, shutting down suspicious stuff thereby preventing hackers stealing your identity. You will still need the antiviruses and spyware stuff, this program adds identity protection to the other stuff. Loads w/o insentient, takes up little space, if you’re adventurous, you can tweak the settings with relatively little experience. Best of all it runs on Windows 7 machines. Incidentally, I have been using AVG software forever.

Of course AVG is known for their free software anti-virus people can download. This software however must be paid for. At $40 it is no bargain either. One could buy from companies like Norton, McAfee, or Trend Micro for less. These are all established players in the anti-virus game unlike AVG–which is known as the free anti-virus company.
I had a problem with the install of my product and the support was frankly a joke. It said I could pay for support, for my brand-new program. Thanks AVG for throwing me under the bus. Pay for support for your product which is brand new? I could buy a legitimate product from any of the known companies above and have free support which doesn’t consist of playing email tag with someone from India.
This thing is going right back for a return. I am going back with Trend Micro where I get free support and get to speak with a live human being. Until AVG gets real customer support it will only be good for free software downwloads! The safest thing you can do is not buy this software.

I bought this product after reading about AVG and its glowing reviews. However, I had a problem with the install on my second computer. The firewall simply would not install. I tried the online fixes at AVG’s Website but none of them worked.
I had to email “customer support,” since apparently AVG is too cheap to provide a phone number. Someone named Lakshmi, I am sure from India, emailed me back but his fix did not work.
I would recommend Trend Micro over this want-to-be anti-virus. Trend has toll-free technical support and you get to speak with a live body, instead of being hung out to dry with second-rate support from India!

AVG Identity Protection is not designed to replace your anti-virus software but to complement it. It sits on top of the anti-virus software and protects your passwords, credit card information, and other valuable information on your computer. There is no need to remember to schedule scans or updates – the software works continuously to block suspicious behavior. The software uses several levels of threats: safe, low risk, medium risk, critical risk. You can set the software to treat the risks the way you want them handled.
AVG Identity Protection is easy to install and use and does an excellent job. Because it works continuously, it sits quietly on my computer and I’m not really aware that it is there unless it detects a problem. You do have the option of letting the program automatically quarantine anything it thinks is dangerous or view the item before it is quarantined. You can also restore items that have been quarantined or permanently delete the items. You also have the option of saving your work before detected programs are removed; you can watch the progress as malware is being removed; and view the final details of the malware that was removed. You also have the option of having information about the malware that was removed sent to the AVG Labs which helps them identify new threats as they occur. While AVG Identity Protection automatically updates itself you can manually click for updates if you wish.
AVG Identity Protection does an excellent job of protecting your computer and yourself from identity theft and more.
